Manifesting is all about making your dreams and desires a reality by using the power of thoughts, belief, positivity and action.

While manifesting might sound a bit hippy-trippy, its principles are actually based on The Law of Attraction which has been studied and proven in quantum physics for hundreds of years. On a basic level, manifesting works by controlling your thoughts, energy and actions.

When implemented correctly it can be so powerful that even some of the world’s top leaders, CEO’s and celebrities actively use manifesting in their lives.

Some people don’t believe it exists, while others swear by its effectiveness. Whatever side you’re on, there are lessons you can learn from its core message both in your personal and professional life.

So, if you fancy trying something new to achieve your goals this year, here are a few steps to follow…

Step 1: Define your goal
Decide what you want to achieve this year and be clear about exactly what it is. The reason most people never achieve their goals is because they don’t clearly define what they are. For example, saying ‘I want to grow my business’ isn’t a goal, but declaring you want to ‘grow your business turnover by £20,000 in 2021’ is a clear and definable goal.

Start by thinking about exactly what you want, why you want it and how you want to feel when you have it.

Step 2: Ask the universe for what you want
Once you’ve established exactly what you want, it’s time to ask the universe for it. This can be done in a variety of ways – through prayer, meditation, visualisation, stating your intentions out loud, creating a vision board or simply writing your intentions down on paper. Treat this step like you’re making an order online. Once the order is made, expect it to arrive in your life.

Step 3: Take action
Even when you use manifestation to achieve your goals, you won’t see any results without action. Start by defining the steps needed to get you to your goal. Work backwards and break it down into small milestones that you can incorporate into daily and weekly habits.

For example, if you want to secure your dream job, make a plan to network with the relevant people that can help make that happen. Or if you want to quit your job and start your dream business, take actionable steps towards setting your business up.

Step 4: Get into the feeling of receiving your goal
The Law of Attraction works by matching alike frequencies. The simplest way to implement this step is by imagining your goal is already achieved. Visualise yourself reaching your goal and get into the feeling of it already being done.

Think about the subtle difference between the words “I am” and “I will be”. When you use “I am”, it puts you in the mindset of already receiving what you want or reaching the goal – but when you use “I will”, it implies something in the future, so you’re always working towards it and never actually getting to your goal.

You also have to focus on feeling good and staying in a positive frame of mind. By doing this, you tune into the energy frequency of your goal and the universe will then deliver what you desire.
